Pittsburgh smothers Detroit down the stretch in 95-79 win

PITTSBURGH -- Michael Young led four Pittsburgh players in double-figures with a game-high 21 points and the Panthers dominated Detroit in the second half of a 95-79 victory Friday night.

Detroit opened the second half on a 12-6 run to take its first lead of the game with 15:23 to play.

After the Titans took a 53-52 lead, the Panthers responded with a 22-3 spurt in the next six minutes to regain control. Pitt limited Detroit to only six made shots and outscored the Titans 46-23 during the game's final 15 minutes, in which the Panthers led by as many as 27 points.
