Pitt's wrestling team has been on a bit of a roller coaster this season. There were highs (wins against ranked Virginia and Wisconsin programs) and lows (loss to unranked West Virginia and several blowouts against ranked teams) and the regular season ended with another low in a loss to Clarion.
Pitt fell on criteria after the score was tied 18-18 following the final bout. The Panthers finish the year 10-7 with the loss while Clarion improved to only 7-12. It was easily the team's worst loss of this season.
Early on, it looked like there was little chance of a Panthers loss.
