The Pitt women’s soccer team played its final game of the season on Thursday night, when NC State came to Ambrose Urbanic Field for a final ACC tilt, and the result was a 2-0 shutout.
The game got off to a slow start, with both sides holding each other scoreless for the first half-hour of action. However, Pitt forward Amanda West broke the silence in the 33rd minute when she found the back of the net with a sliding, left-footed shot.
Ten minutes later, Pitt forward Emily Yaple doubled Pitt’s lead, scoring on a header despite a collision with NC State goalkeeper Maria Echezarreta.
