The Pitt men’s basketball lost to Penn State earlier this season and on Sunday, the women didn’t fare much better. They weren’t blown out by the Nittany Lions but still lost, 59-48.
Pitt got behind early and never really recovered. They trailed, 17-10, after the first quarter and Penn State continued to build that lead a little as the game went on. The Panthers now fall to 6-5 while Penn State improves to 9-3.
Pitt got solid games from Kauai Bradley, who had 15 points (including four three-pointers) and Danielle Garven (12 points/10 rebounds). But the Panthers’ star, Yacine Diop, struggled a little.
