A while back, it was announced that Pitt and Penn State would meet up in basketball this season but the parameters weren't yet known. That changed on Wednesday with the announcement that the two teams would play as part of the Never Forget Tribute Classic - a new event created in remembrance of 9/11.
"We are excited to be a part of this event and to renew our rivalry with Penn State," head coach Kevin Stallings said. "December 10th will be a great day of basketball and having the ability to help provide opportunities for families impacted by the tragedy of 9/11 will make it even more special.
