Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi announced on Friday afternoon that tight end Charles Reeves Jr., who joined the Panthers in 2017, had been dismissed from the team for disciplinary reasons. No additional details were provided in a press release issued by the university regarding the move.
Much was expected of Reeves, who Rivals rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 13 tight end in the country last year. However, even with the hype surrounding the Steubenville, Ohio, native, he redshirted his freshman season and concluded his Pitt career without ever taking the field.
Reeves is the second tight end Pitt has lost in the last four months, as presumed starter and former five-star recruit Chris Clark parted ways with the team in March citing personal reasons.
