Pitt tennis ranked for first time in program history

Pitt's tennis program has been a bit of a punching bag for many years. The team doesn't even have the benefit of an on-campus facility to play its matches and prior to this year, had never beaten a ranked team.

That changed with the team's win over No. 61 Penn State earlier this year and now, the Panthers are actually ranked themselves.

For the first time in program history, Pitt's tennis team landed in the ITA NCAA rankings, checking in at No. 75 - the very last spot in the poll. Ranking 75 teams seems a little much, but with over 300 Division I programs participating, it actually does mean something.
