Since taking over as athletics director, Pitt's Scott Barnes has been incredibly busy, extending or replacing several coaches. He is on the lookout for another one as long-time swimming and diving coach Chuck Knoles is retiring.
Knoles has been with Pitt since 1990 and is the winningest coach in the program's history. He was a six-time Big East Coach of the Year and the men's team won the conference 11 times.
Somewhat interesting is that Knoles is retiring before the women's NCAA championships in a few weeks. Pitt has two swimmers competing in the event.
