The Pitt softball team snapped a seven-game losing streak on Saturday by putting up its first double-figure point total of the season in a 14-5 beatdown of North Carolina. The win came in the final installment of a three-game series between the Panthers and the Tar Heels and prevented Pitt from suffering a sweep.
Taylor Rahach took the mound for Pitt and logged 2.1 innings before getting pulled from the game. Over that span, she gave up four hits, four walks and three earned runs. She was relieved by Abby Edwards in the top of the third inning, and although Edwards quickly gave up an unearned run and one earned run later, she was able to limit walks and get the win.
