Back in April, Pitt shortstop Charles Leblanc was named to the watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award given to the nation's top shortstop. Now, with the season over, Leblanc learned he was a finalist.

The Pitt star is one of three players left standing for the award as he's competing with Louisville's Devin Hairston and Oklahoma's Sheldon Neuse.

It's been a crazy few weeks for Leblanc overall. In late May, he won the ACC batting title and was subsequently named to the All-ACC First Team. This past Friday, he was named the NCBWA All-District Player of the Year and a short time later, he was selected in the fourth round of the MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers.
