All week, Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi was mum on the status of two key injuries heading into yesterday’s game. Missing in action were defensive end Dewayne Hendrix and linebacker Elijah Zeise, who suffered injuries in the opener against Villanova.
Richie Walsh of KDKA first reported that Hendrix could possibly have a broken foot and after the Penn State game, Narduzzi stated that both Hendrix and Zeise were out for the season. Hendrix has a foot injury while Zeise has on to an ankle.
Both losses are tough ones to take. Hendrix was the starter at defensive end and Zeise, while being listed as second on the depth chart, got the start against Villanova.
