Throughout the Pitt softball program's nearly 20-year history, no pitcher had ever thrown a perfect game. That changed on Saturday when freshman Sarah Dawson (3-0) recorded one in a 13-0 win over Providence.
Dawson was, well, perfect. Astonishingly, she did not record a strikeout in retiring all 15 batters of a five-inning game.
Dawson was a member of team's most recent recruiting class in the Fall of 2015. This also wasn't her first perfect game, having thrown one as a senior in high school as part of a dominant 23-1 season with a .
