The Pitt women’s soccer team was unable to top Wake Forest in Winston-Salem on Thursday night, as the team fell 3-2. But the Panthers got a solid performance out of freshman forward Amanda West, who scored two goals to set the program’s single-season points record, with 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points.
In addition, the native of Burlington, Ontario, tied the program's single-season goals record, when she netted her 10th goal of the season in just the 16th game of her collegiate career.
West’s first goal of the night came after Pitt midfielder Anna Bout hit the crossbar with a shot in the 52nd minute, presenting West with an opportunity she would capitalize on by tapping a shot past Wake Forest goalkeeper Mia Raben to give Pitt a 1-0 lead.
