The captains of the Pitt football team were named Friday during the Panthers’ annual kickoff luncheon, with two representatives selected from the defense and one from the offense. From the defense, defensive back Dennis Briggs and linebacker Quintin Wirginis were chosen as team leaders, while offensive lineman Alex Bookser was bestowed with the honor on offense.
Each of the representatives selected at the luncheon is a senior from the Pittsburgh area.
Bookser, a product of Mt. Lebanon High School, has established himself as an offensive leader, and as such, he was chosen to represent Pitt alongside head coach Pat Narduzzi and linebacker Seun Idowu at the 2018 ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte, North Carolina, in July.
