The Pitt baseball team snapped a six-game losing streak on Saturday by edging Miami 11-10 at Charles L. Cost Field. In the back-and-forth affair, the Panthers built up a 6-2 lead before the Hurricanes stormed back to take a 9-7 advantage. However, Pitt then fought back and scored four more runs, which proved to be enough for the victory.
Dan Hammer got the start for Pitt, and although he logged four strikeouts in 5.1 innings, it wasn’t one of his better outings, as he also gave up nine hits, three walks and six earned runs. He was relieved by Brady Devereux, who fared only slightly better, giving up two runs in two innings.
