The down season continued for the Pitt baseball team as they fell to West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl on Wednesday, 5-4. The loss is the Panthers’ eighth in the past nine games.
Pitt moves to 8-19 while West Virginia improves to 17-11.
Pitt’s bats were mostly pretty quiet as the team collected only three hits. Despite that, they managed to score four runs with three coming on a three-run home run by Bryce O’Farrell - his first career long ball. That tied the game 4-4 but West Virginia scored what would become the decisive run in the eighth inning.
