Pitt hosted a group of recruits for a visit over the weekend, and that group included a large contingent from Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia. The visit proved mutually beneficial for the Panthers staff and at least one of the visitors from across the state, as Imhotep safety Javon McIntyre announced his commitment to Pitt on Monday.
McIntyre holds three-star ratings from 247Sports and Rivals and drew scholarship offers from 14 programs. He chose Pitt over Boston College, Iowa State, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State, Rutgers, Temple, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, as well as several other schools.
