Pitt landed its first offensive lineman of the 2022 class on Sunday, as Ja’Kavion Nonar of Glades Central Community High School in Belle Glade, Florida, committed during an official visit to the Pitt campus and facilities.
The 6’7”, 285-pound lineman holds a three-star rating from 247Sports, which ranks him as the No. 139 offensive tackle in the 2022 class and the No. 87 recruit in Florida. However, Nonar has no star rating from Rivals or ESPN.
Nonar was recruited by Pitt associate head coach Charlie Partridge and Pitt line coach Dave Borbely, and they were able to secure a commitment from him despite competition from Alabama A&M, Delaware State, Florida A&M, Florida International and Maryland.
