Pat Signal: Grant Carrigan commits to Pitt

Pitt picked up a commitment from a local tight end this afternoon. Grant Carrigan, who will be playing for Pine-Richland High School this season, verbally committed to play for Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers earlier this afternoon. He checks in at 6’7” 250 pounds, and is the first high school tight end committed to Pitt in quite some time. You would have to go the whole back to the class of 2013 with Devon Edwards to see a high school tight end commitment.

Carrigan chose the Panthers over other offers from Wake Forest and Kent State. He played his high school football for Weir High School in Weirton, West Virginia last season, and Mike White of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette explains his backstory a little more in this article.
