Panthers Down Eagles, 7-0, Complete Series Sweep

The Pittsburgh Panthers (13-41, 7-17), winners of four in a row, completed their series sweep of the Boston College Eagles on Sunday afternoon with a final score of 7-0. It was the second time in three games that they managed to shutout Boston College.

In the series opener on Friday, senior pitcher Sarah Dawson threw a complete-game shutout. It ended in the bottom of the sixth inning after senior second baseman Alexis Solak crushed a grand slam that enacted the run rule to end the game, 11-0 in favor of Pitt. Yesterday, on senior night, there were again fireworks to end the game.
