These are the type of weeks that are easiest for us. Pitt only had one game this week, due to finals, and therefore, we only had one game to decide who the Panther of the Week would be. Jamel Artis made it pretty easy for us in Pitt’s 83-73 victory over the Rice Owls. Artis held off Ryan Luther, who came off of the bench to chip in 20 points.
Artis would not be denied and finally stopped the Michael Young streak to open this season as Panther of the Week. Artis was on fire and poured in 31 points and added five rebounds, along with three assists and one steal.
