Despite a back-and-forth battle which saw the Pittsburgh Panthers (4-22, 1-5) fight back from an early deficit, they dropped their home opener to the Ohio Bobcats, 9-11, on Tuesday night. It hasn’t been the season that many envisioned, but that hasn’t stopped Pitt from fighting in every game from start to finish.
Ohio got off to a fast start thanks to back-to-back solo home runs in the first inning. Another solo home run at the top of the third inning gave the Bobcats a 3-0 advantage, as the Panthers had yet to find their footing offensively.
By the bottom of the third, sophomore Hunter Levesque decided she had enough.
