With a 21-34 record, Pitt’s baseball team didn’t have a great year. But three players were recently drafted and others continue to pick up postseason honors.
This week, outfielders Nico Popa and Connor Perry were named to ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams. Popa made the first team while Perry made the second.
Both had standout years on offense for the team and the pair dominated statistical categories for the Panthers. Popa’s .353 batting average easily led the team and he also topped the Panthers in OPS, hits, total bases, and triples. Perry was one of the top power hitters in the ACC with 15 home runs and his 57 runs gave him the team lead in both of those categories.
