Nakia Griffin-Stewart signs with Green Bay Packers

Former Pitt tight end Nakia Griffin-Stewart signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in May but did not make the team’s 53-man roster or practice squad earlier this month. As a result, Griffin-Stewart was briefly in limbo, but on Wednesday, he signed with the Green Bay Packers, becoming a member of the team’s practice squad.

The 6’5”, 252-pound tight end came to Pitt in 2019 as a graduate transfer from Rutgers. In Piscataway, his talents were rarely put to use, as he amassed just 97 yards and one touchdown on 13 receptions with the Scarlet Knights between 2015 and 2018.
