This post examines where each program naturally fits in the college football landscape, primarily how likely it is to be a National Championship contender, since that's the ultimate goal. Previous on the field success obviously has a lot to do with it, but more than that, it's also how much money each program is willing to spend, what conference they are in (if you aren't in a P5 program, forget it), and how long they've been successful, since many programs are hot for awhile, but only the truly elite are successful most of the time.
