Pitt football great Larry Fitzgerald won the 2018 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with PGA pro Kevin Streelman on Sunday. What’s more, in a competition that’s oddly been dominated by celebrity amateurs since its inception in 1937, he’s just the seventh athlete to win the tournament. The last was fellow Pitt legend Dan Marino 30 years ago in 1988.
Fitzgerald and Streelman finished 41 under par, with a seven-stroke advantage over the second-place pairing of amateur Brian Swette and PGA pro Chez Reavie. One stroke behind Swette and Reavie were Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander and pro Russell Knox.
