The 2017 NFL regular season is almost over but former Pitt standout Larry Fitzgerald reached one more milestone before it ended.
On Sunday, Fitzgerald recorded a catch in his 211th consecutive game, playing against the Seattle Seahawks. That tied Tony Gonzalez for second on the all-time list. If Fitzgerald returns next season, he will have a chance to sit alone in second place.
The overall record holder is Jerry Rice. Rice’s streak lasted an incredible 274 games and that record is likely safe from Fitzgerald, who would need to play about four more seasons and catch a pass in every game to break it.
