Joey Porter Jr., one of the top talents in western Pennsylvania in the 2019 recruiting cycle, trimmed his list of potential schools to five on Thursday night, and Pitt made the cut.
Porter is considered a four-star prospect at cornerback by both 247Sports and ESPN, with the latter including the North Allegheny High School product in its ESPN 300. Both sites consider him the top high school player in Pennsylvania in the 2019 recruiting class. Rivals differs in its evaluation of Porter, though, as the recruiting site has him pegged as a three-star recruit.
In addition to Pitt, Porter included LSU, Miami, Nebraska and Penn State on his list of finalists.
