Quarterback Jeff George Jr., the son of former NFL quarterback Jeff George, has been bouncing around the Midwest for his college career, first committing to Illinois, his father’s alma mater, before landing at Michigan. However, with Shea Patterson expected to start for the Wolverines, George is transferring out of the program, and he’s reportedly planning on coming to Pitt.
On Friday night, Brandon Justice of The Wolverine Lounge broke the news of George’s transfer, which was confirmed by Dave Ablauf, Michigan’s associate athletic director. Aaron McMann of MLive also independently confirmed the news and noted that the 6’3”, 220-pound junior would arrive at his next school with two years of eligibility remaining and can play immediately.
