James Conner set to make first NFL start with Steelers

Former Pitt star James Conner will make the first start of his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, when the team faces the Cleveland Browns on the road. He’ll be standing in for Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, who extended his holdout into the regular season.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Bell did not travel to Cleveland with the team and left more than $850,000 on the table to sit out Week 1, clearing a path for Conner to play.

The #Steelers buses are on the road to Cleveland and RB Le’Veon Bell is not on them, I’m told.
