Former Pittsburgh Panther Jamel Artis was recalled from the G League’s Lakeland Magic on Wednesday by the Orlando Magic. Artis was coming off a 20 point performance in Lakeland’s victory over the Long Island Nets; he added four rebounds, two assists, and one steal for good measure in 33 minutes.
While Orlando didn’t make a game of it last night, the lopsided defeat allowed Artis to play in an NBA game, something he hadn’t done since late December. He recorded 2 points on 1-2 from the field in 12 minutes. At just 55 minutes of total NBA playing time, there’s an opportunity for him to set a career high every game.
