Hokies' Isaiah Ford stakes claim as ACC's top receiver

Here’s an interesting footnote to the 2015 season: ACC quarterbacks attempted more passes, gained more yards per attempt and averaged more passing yards per game last season than they did in 2014, but until Virginia Tech’s Isaiah Ford racked up a whopping 227 yards in his bowl game, no receiver in the league had topped 1,000 yards.

That’s how things ended for the ACC. For the first time since 2008, only one player finished with 1,000 receiving yards. Filter out games against non-Power 5 foes and no one even topped 800. It was, to be sure, a down year among receivers.
