The Pitt softball team went 2-2 in the recent ACC/Big Ten Challenge this weekend, going 1-1 against both Wisconsin and Illinois. One of the highlights was senior Giorgiana Zeremenko breaking the school’s all-time home run record.
In a 5-1 loss to Wisconsin, Zeremenko hit her 35th home run at Pitt, breaking the school record of Holly Stevens. The home run was already Zeremenko’s fourth of the year.
Zeremenko breaking the school record really started to look like a reality after her second year at Pitt. That season, 2016, she broke the school’s single-season record with 17 home runs.
