Guard Jamarius Burton scored 24 points and Blake Hinson added 13 points and 8 rebounds as Pitt opened ACC play with a 68-60 on the road against NC State last night. Nike Sibande had ten off the bench as the final Panther in double figures. Greg Elliott contributed seven points and a career-high nine rebounds (besting his previous high of six).
NC State came out firing as their potential lottery pick guard Terquavion Smith hit threes on two of their first three possessions. Outside of Smith’s 15 and D.J. Burns’ 13, Pitt was able to put the clamps on the Wolfpack.
