The Pitt men’s soccer team took a large step forward this year under head coach Jay Vidovich. After winning only two matches last season, the Panthers won eight this year while scoring high-profile victories over three ranked teams (Syracuse, Notre Dame, Columbia).
Given how well the team performed, several players were due for some recognition. That came this week with the announcing of All-ACC annual awards. In all, four Panthers were honored.
Midfielders Javi Perez and Pol Planellas were named to the All-ACC second and third team, respectively. Meanwhile, forwards Edward Kizza and Alexander Dexter were named to the All-ACC Freshman Team.
