Ex-Pitt kicker Chris Blewitt still standing in Chicago Bears kicker competition

Former Pitt kicker Chris Blewitt was signed by the Chicago Bears in March after setting himself apart during a group tryout at the team’s practice facility. And after taking part in a rookie minicamp that concluded Sunday, Blewitt emerged as one of the top two kickers on the team. The bottom two, John Baron and Redford Jones, were cut, leaving only Elliott Fry between Blewitt and a roster spot.

The Bears have pushed their kicking battle to a present number of two: Chris Blewitt and Elliott Fry. They have waived Redford Jones and John Baron II.
