The men's and women's track teams participated in the ACC Outdoor Championships over the weekend. Both teams struggled as a whole as the men's squad finished 10th and the women were 13th. A bright spot, however, was junior Desmond Palmer repeating as the conference 400m hurdles champion.
Palmer ran a time of 49.66 seconds, a season-best for him. The time was just a shade slower than when he won the event in 2015, breaking the school record with a time of 49.41 seconds - a record he broke earlier that season.
In 2015, Palmer went on to NCAAs where he finished eighth and despite a somewhat disappointing time (compared to the numbers he posted earlier in the year) of 51:57 seconds, he was good enough to earn First-Team All-American honors.
