Jeff Capel and the Pitt coaching staff are set to host Delaware shooting guard Ithiel Horton for an unofficial visit on Sunday. Horton entered the transfer portal on Thursday afternoon, and within a day, he had drawn interest from seven Power Five programs as well as several others.
Horton is a rising sophomore who averaged 13.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game with the Blue Hens in the 2018-19 season while shooting 40.9 percent from three-point range. He also led all freshmen in scoring in the Colonial Athletic Association.
”If I were to go to Pitt, that’s a major, major step up from Delaware,” Horton told Mike Vukovcan of Pittsburgh Sports Now.
