Pitt running back Darrin Hall was placed on the preseason watchlist for the Doak Walker Award on Wednesday, according to a press release from the PwC SMU Athletic Forum. The award is given annually to the top collegiate running back in the nation, and Hall is one of 63 candidates.
Last season, Hall was a standout on an otherwise lackluster offense, as he emerged as Pitt’s top rusher, racking up 628 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. He also averaged an impressive 4.9 yards per carry and showed off his versatility by adding 157 receiving yards and another score on a reception.
