Pitt pitcher Dan Hammer has been having an incredible summer on the mound for the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League, which is the country’s top collegiate summer league. Now, his accomplishments have been recognized, as he will serve as the starting pitcher for the East Division in the upcoming 2018 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game.
The rising junior has pitched to a 1.23 ERA, posting 20 strikeouts against three walks over 22 innings of work. He’s also been credited with two wins and zero losses in five games. As of Tuesday evening, Hammer’s ERA ranked fourth in the league among pitchers who had pitched 20 or more innings.
