Craig Heyward and Matt Cavanaugh make 2021 College Football HOF Ballot

The ballot for voting for the 2021 College Football Hall of Fame has been released and it includes a pair of former Panthers in Matt Cavanaugh and Craig Heyward.

Both were college football standouts as Cavanaugh quarterbacked Pitt’s 1976 national championship team while Heyward was a first-team All-American and left Pitt with just over 3,000 career rushing yards. Heyward, of course, was also recently named to Pitt’s own newly established Hall of Fame in the 2020 Class and it seems possible that Cavanaugh also could at some point in the future.

Both would seemingly be decent candidates but have previously been on the ballot, including last year.
