Cal Adomitis named preseason All-American

Pitt long snapper Cal Adomitis was named a preseason All-American by Phil Steele earlier this week. Adomitis is the second Pitt player to earn preseason All-America honors, as Calijah Kancey made the preseason All-America team of the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Both players were second-team selections.

One-hundred twenty players were honored with placement on Phil Steele’s four preseason All-America teams, and Adomitis was one of just 15 ACC players and 24 special teams players in the nation who were honored. Adomitis is Pitt’s lone representative on the honorary list.

The 6’2”, 250-pound long snapper is set to enter his fifth year as a starter at Pitt, as he took advantage of the additional year of eligibility offered by the NCAA to athletes impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
