I figured the line for this week’s Pitt-Notre Dame game would be pretty ugly and, well, it is.
The Panthers opened up as 21-point underdogs to the Irish. Pitt bounced back from some recent adversity to pick up a nice win against Syracuse on Saturday. But given how Notre Dame has looked the last few games with new quarterback Ian Book, even that might be somewhat generous to Pitt.
Notre Dame just went into an incredibly tough environment to defeat then-ranked Virginia Tech in a night road game by 22 points. The previous week, they beat a ranked Stanford team by 21 at home.
