Kelly Oubre Jr.’s game is just as mental as physical, if not more.
What many may take for granted when joining a new team, it’s impacted how he’s played during his first few home games at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
“The new preparations of finding a new routine, finding places to stay, knowing how to get to the arena,” said Oubre Jr., who came in a trade last month from Washington for Trevor Ariza. “Stuff like that. All the little things play a big part in the psychological game.”
Through the losses, Oubre has been finding his comfort level in his new city and came through with a career performance in leading Phoenix to a 115-111 win over Sacramento (20-21) to snap a six-game skid in the last of this homestand.
