Tucker gets extended run in changing role

Suns forward P.J. Tucker averaged 31 minutes per game last season and guarded the likes of Rudy Gay, DeMarcus Cousins and Kevin Durant.

Coming off back surgery rehabilitation, Tucker mostly watched teammates defend those opposing players as he averaged six minutes per game in three scoreless games. On Monday night, Tucker got a chance to break the ice on his season with seven points and six rebounds in 27 minutes at the Los Angeles Clippers.

“I was going crazy on the bench,” Tucker said of the Suns' first three games. “Even when they (the Clippers) went on that run (Monday night), I wanted to get back out there, especially on Blake (Griffin).
