Up seven late in regulation, the Suns looked as if they were going to leave Washington with a fifth consecutive win in comfy fashion. Instead, they squandered a lead with poor execution late, which was a theme of their 149-146 loss to the Wizards.
“Everybody knew kind of what was at stake,” Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr. said. “Those guys definitely didn’t want to lose to us coming back here and we definitely wanted to win coming back here of course.
