Charles Barkley had a chance to beat Michael Jordan in the 1993 NBA Finals, but he passed the ball.
Twice.
He still regrets it.
“I’ve thought about it a million times,” Barkley said in a recent phone interview. “I’ve always been pissed at myself … It’s always good to make the proper basketball play, unless it don’t f-----g work out.”
His reflections take on a new significance with the ESPN documentary series “The Last Dance” refreshing Michael Jordan’s legacy as the greatest star in the history of the sport. The 10-part film provides an opportunity to re-examine the entire era.
