Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul was watching his daughter while she was watching American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson.
It touched him.
"There's a spirit about her," Paul said after Saturday's practice as the Suns prepare for the upcoming NBA Finals. "It's just contagious. You have no choice but to root for her, and to have daughter of mine. I remember she was on television and she was talking and my daughter was just looking at her."
So seeing Richardson receive a month suspension after testing positive for marijuana, thus eliminating her from competing in the 100-meter dash in the upcoming 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo touched Paul in a way beyond being a fellow athlete.
