Last night in Las Vegas, Team USA began their 2024 Olympic journey with a friendly matchup against the Canadian basketball team. Two members of the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, are on the American roster. Durant, the all-time leading scorer in US men’s basketball history, did not play due to a calf strain. Booker, preparing for his second appearance with the national team, started the game.
The purpose of these exhibition games, as Devin Booker noted afterward, is to tinker with lineups, develop chemistry, and determine what the best strategy is for Team USA.
