“Big Sauce” is coming home.
Alan Williams, a Phoenix North High graduate, will sign a 10-day contract Tuesday to play for the Suns, his lifelong favorite team.
Williams, 23, is a 6-foot-8, 261-pound power forward/center who led the Chinese Basketball Association in rebounding in a season that just ended. Williams averaged 20.8 points and 15.4 rebounds for a 16-22 Qingdao team that missed the playoffs.
The Suns are expected to also sign veteran swingman Chase Budinger for the remainder of the season on Tuesday, assuming he will clear waivers Monday. Budinger already is in Phoenix.
